You have a task to image a brand new laptop that came from the vendor preloaded with the latest Ubuntu Linux but you want to run a Windows OS instead for the user. Step 1
As the laptop reboot or boots up, as soon as you see the Dell logo press ‘F2’ (Preparing to enter Setup).

At this point you will see the Settings, making changes on this panel is critical on the behavior of the device… very careful!

Step 2
Expand on (+) Secure Boot.

Under Secure Boot Enable -> By default is ‘Enabled‘, we want to ‘Disabled‘ Secure Boot feature -> Click Yes to confirm.

Under General which is already expanded -> Click ‘Advanced Boot Options’
Under Advanced Boot Options, by default is uncheck.
Check mark ‘Enable Legacy Option ROMs

Still under General -> Click on ‘Boot Sequence
Under Boot Sequence by default ‘UEFI‘ is selected -> Select ‘Legacy‘ instead

Step 5
Reboot the device and press ‘F2’ again as soon as you see Dell logo.

Step 6
Under General -> Click on ‘Boot Sequence

On this windows you can uncheck the components that you don’t need by unchecking them. But notice that Onboard NIC is at the bottom of the list in the right; we want to bring it to top. Highlight Onboard NIC and with the up arrow click four (4) times, so now when your laptop boots up and you have connected the CAT cable to the NIC (Network Interface Card) the laptop should look for the image server and start the process of imaging the device.

Step 7 (Troubleshoot)
What if when the laptop boots up it doesn’t work and you’ll see a diagnostic windows searching for the OS, then what?

You would need to go back to BIOS by pressing ‘F2’ and Expand (+) System Configuration and under System Configuration -> Click on ‘Integrated NIC‘ and made sure ‘Enabled w/PXE‘ is selected.
